On Friday, 8th July 2022, NDA presidential nominee Draupadi Murmu visited her home state Odisha and got a heart-warming welcome. Murmu was welcomed at the airport with a tribal dance performance and sarangi played by the cymbals.

Murmu got emotional and thanked state CM Naveen Patnik for keeping his rakhi promise and giving her all the support for her presidential candidature. Odisha CM Naveen also treated her as the state guest during her recent visit.
Murmu, a tribal resident of the Mayurbhanj district of Odisha, thanked CM Naveen Patnik and the entire state for a grand welcome in her home state. She was overwhelmed with her hospitality and declared that she would be like "Subhadra," sister of Lord Krishna, to the state and CM of Odisha.
She continually showed gratitude towards the CM and shared details about their bond. Murmu said that just after she tied rakhi on the wrist of CM Naveen, he promised to support her throughout her campaign to become president even before she could ask him anything. She further stated that she is forever grateful and indebted to him (CM Naveen) for his good gestures and for showing his unshaken support towards the daughter of Odisha.
She hoped that the lawmakers of other parties would also treat her as the state's daughter and appealed to all state legislatures, including the non-NDA candidates, to support her for her presidential success.
On 8th July 2022, CM Naveen Patnaik held lunch for Murmu at his residence, Naveen Niwas, in Odisha and treated her with Odia delicacies.
