During the budget session in Vidhan Sabha, CM Ashok Gehlot announced giving free smart phones to women in Rajasthan.
The women in Rajasthan will get free smartphones commencing from Raksha Bandhan 2023. CM Ashok Gehlot announced it during the budget session of Vidhan Sabha on March 17th. He announced that 4 million women beneficiaries will be given smartphones during the first phase. It may be noted that CM Gehlot had announced to provide of free smart phones to the female head of the Chiranjeevi families under the Chief Minister’s Digital Seva Yojana. Under this scheme, the CM of Rajasthan has announced free smartphones to women during the Raksha Bandhan festival.
CM Gehlot announced that free smartphones would be provided from Raksha Bandhan to the female students of class 10th to 12th of the government schools of Chiranjeevi families, universities, female students of ITI and polytechnic, and the women who receive Ekal Nari pension.
Due to the shortage of chipsets used in smartphones, there's a short supply of smartphones. Also, a hike in the prices of phones has been observed. Despite this crisis, CM Gehlot has announced to distribute of free smart phones to the 4 million women beneficiaries from the festive occasion of Raksha Bandhan 2023 in a phased manner, as promised.
