Within India, Rakhi is known by different names. Raksha bandhan is celebrated as Rakhrhya by the Sikhs. On this special day, the sister prepares a pooja thali with Rakhi, roli, aarti and sweets and ties Rakhi to their brother’s wrist. The entire house is decorated and all of them will be dressed in colorful Indian attire with elegant jewelry. Sisters pray for the safety and well-being of her brother. The festival is celebrated with good food and fun.
